Hope...

Hope is the sunshine that filters through my bedroom window in the morning. Hope is the purrs of my cats as they lie on my yoga mat while I try to breathe through the pain in my hips as I begin my morning practice. Hope is the cup of tea made with love by my husband even if he was up half the night trying in vain to sleep, but can't. Hope is the sound of my brother's laughter even though he lives with debilitating headaches day after day. Hope is in the eyes of every teenager struggling to find herself in the maze of life. Hope is found in every person who puts one foot in front of the other and continues on in spite of the depression, the hurt, the endless prescriptions and blank faces of humanity. Hope is all of us who are reaching out to offer friendship and laughter, to hold a hand or send a hug halfway across the world to people who are only photos on a blog or a social media site, and hope is taking a deep breath and continuing on, not so much for yourself, but for others that need to know that there is someone else out there...struggling and living and smiling...YOU are hope.

Loki Finds a HOME!!!

Great news on the animal adoption front. My awesome friend Laura jumped in and found a home for Loki last week. She is now in her forever home in Anaheim, CA with a wonderful couple and a new doggie friend.

Loki needs a home...

My husband and I have 3 cats and an iguana. We like to travel and our families live out of state. When planning a vacation or overnight trip, we must consider our pets.

So last month, when searching for a pet sitter in order to take a trip to Pennsylvania to visit my Mom, we were lucky enough to find KC. She is an absolute gem! She came to visit our cats twice every day, fed the iguana and misted him; she even watered the plants. She sent
pictures of our critters EVERYDAY !! I trusted her with my four-legged family. Hell! I would trust her with my life.
Now she needs some help. A few months ago, she found a miniature pincher puppy in the park near her apt. She took the cutie pie in and has been loving and caring for her ever since. The pup gets along with other dogs, with children and with her cat Stitch. She just found out that although she can have a cat in the apartment, dogs are forbidden. This puts KC in the horrible position of having to find a loving home for her pup.ASAP! Can you help? They are in Long Beach, Ca. I have more info if you are interested. Waiting...

Waiting at a hospital for a loved one having surgery is not something that I particularly like to do, but very necessary.

Waiting for anything is contrary to out "must have it now" society, but this kind of waiting is nerve-racking. I will just let my faith help me through this period and see me safely to the other side.

My husband had to relinquish his wedding ring before the surgery, so it's on my finger for now. It's giving me a great deal of comfort. But I cannot wait to place it back on his finger, especially since we will be celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary next week. So I will look forward to that day with joy and look back on today with relief...as soon as he's safely out of surgery. Until then, I'm in this uncertain place; praying for the man I love.
